Day 16 - June 17, 2012
Nipomo, CA to Lone Pine, CA
323.0 miles

Another great ride today with perfect weather. I left Nipomo, CA at 0550 and tried not to wake Brantley up, but he came out of the house as I was ready to pull out. I canít thank him enough for the great time I had at his beautiful house with him.

Although it was almost 100 degrees in Pearsonville, CA when I stopped for fuel, I left the leather jacket on. The humidity is so low it feels a lot cooler to me. The first nine miles of my eastward trek were in pretty thick fog, but quickly cleared. I had a sweat shirt, chaps and heavy gloves on. They had to be removed within a couple of hours. I headed for Lone Pine, CA where I got a room for the night. I headed up to see Mount Whitney as it was not far away then came back for some golden throat dust remover and a shower. 323.0 miles for the day, 3975 for the adventure thus far.

Tomorrow I plan on getting up early and riding through Death Valley, CA and making my was toward Glendale, AZ. Not sure how long it will take, but I donít plan on any more multi-hundreds of miles a day. Weíll see, sometimes I get impatient.
